Looking after your neighbourhood
Highlights of this year
This year our housing team led on 30 improvement projects in local neighbourhoods - funding 14 upgrades or installations of CCTV, decorations to a communal area in one block and installing a barrier gate to another. We also installed secure bike parking at one site after residents asked for this.
Our Estate Improvement fund is available each year to improve services, improve the physical and social environment of a neighbourhood or to improve safety and reduce anti-social behaviour.
Learnings and improvements made this year
This year we realised that we need our contact centre and housing services to work more closely together to deliver the best possible service to you, so we’ve changed the management structure for these services with one assistant director responsible for both teams.
What we are focussing on in 2026/27
In 2026/27, a big focus of our corporate strategy is to take a close look at how we deliver our housing services, by talking to you and our colleagues about what works and what doesn’t.
Following this, we’ll be looking at the way we work, and putting our plans into action.
We also know that the way we handle anti-social behaviour needs to improve, and we’ve appointed a new Community Safety Manager to help us review the way we work, our policies and processes and to make sure that if you need to report something, we focus on supporting you until we can resolve it, in partnership with other agencies.
